Parker: The single-vineyard 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colledilà clocks in at 14.5% alcohol and boasts a ripe, opulent style. Heavy oak tones impart layers of smoke and new leather that wrap around the finish.
Francesco Ricasoli and his winemaking team (Carlo Ferrini and Marco Cerqua) have added two Chianti Classico Grand Selezione wines to the venerable portfolio of this historic estate: The Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione and the single-vineyard Colledilà Grand Selezione. These wines represent a good first effort but are also weighed down by the vintage heat.
