| Wine Spectator 91:There's pretty cherry and plum character on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, with generous fruit and a long, caressing finish. Long and pretty. Best after 2009. 500 cases made. –JS Parker-Galloni 91:The single-vineyard 2003 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna delle Raunate possesses noticeably more definition, clarity and freshness than the regular bottling. Candied, open aromatics lead to a sumptuous expression of sweet dark fruit, flowers, spices and menthol. This authoritative Brunello has a wild, unrestrained personality which I found completely engaging. It is without question an overachiever in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. |
